50th over of the game, and still been all pace, no Panesar if yet...maybe Briggs not available is a blessing.

Worcs are 194-8...the bad news is, Kervezee is still there on 89 and Leicester have the worst batting line-up and Worcs the best bowler, so they could easily be 5-6 down tonight.

Slug gone for 38..238/7...NEED 300.

5 of our top 6 were dismissed for a score between 34 and 42, not sure what to make of that.

Worcester are 237ao...we are 258/7

gained atleast 1 point on them, 300 and 2 points would be nice, and a solid batting display from Leicester too.

Coles out for 27

Abbott, Balcombe and Tommo need to score 33 more.

I do think that Essex have the best bowling attack in the league, but without Cook and Napier their batting isn't the greatest (albeit it's by far, far from the worst in the league).

Masters at eight is two places too high, for example. And it's hardly the most experienced opening pair.

Seeing out a maiden when they have 6 overs til a new ball isn't the wisest plan, also Balcs is an awful batsman when he tries to block, 1 hell of a slogger though.

With Panesar only bowling 1 over, and it favoring seamers, it appears we picked the right overseas for the 2nd game running.

Fingers crossed Tommo and Balcs can get these 15 runs. If they can, I'd hope that we'd declare straight away. Chance to get 15 overs at them tonight, light permitting.

I know Browne is only in the very, very early stages of his career, but seeing an opening with a FC average of 6.80 is interesting.

AND BOPARA IS OUT NOW!!! Massive, massive wicket.

He's already three times better than his average in this match, hoping for an early curtailment of his innings shortly after the resumption in play so that he doesn't improve it too much further. Need to be looking to take a couple of wickets every 50 runs or so to stay in control, although looking out the window right now it appears to be cracking batting day.
