I thought neither side was meant to say ANYTHING ?

I imagine it was passed by KP's lawyers. Sounds like he's got a regular column.

I think it's rather sad that he's so desperate to claim how well he gets on with the other players by quoting phone calls with Broad and arranging a holiday for Swann.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Maybe, and I do think he'd look better by saying nothing. But if you have taken so much criticism, it must be tempting to defend yourself.

I'm sure he was hurt by Downton's claim that all the senior players Approved of getting rid of him, but as you say he should have kept clear of that subject. It makes him look a little pathetic.

Pathetic feels a bit harsh. Needy feels fairer to me. It's not pathetic to try and preserve your dignity and reputation.

I'd be defending myself, if I were in KP's shoes.

You can't defend yourself against such accusations that's the problem' If someone says nobody likes you only others can can defend you, not yourself. Which is why it was out of order for Downton to make that statement.

Its pathetic from both sides, hes NOT coming back, leave it at that.

Constant digs at eachother and taking attention away from the 1st test, helps no-one.

It'd probably end up like the result of Poirot's investigation into the murder on the Orient Express - they all did it.

And by actions, you mean scoring 14,000 international runs right?
