I'm quite happy for this game to meander along.

I'm not, we can beat them and build a gap, best time to play them without Moeen.

Glamorgan have got very lucky there. Unless Sammy had come off, I wasn't backing them to chase that down. So to get away with a no-result is a bonus for them.

As for this game against Worcs, I too am happy for very little to happen and us to come away with a draw. They lose Ajmal to the Carribean Premier League next month.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

Not when we've lost the toss and will have to bat last against Ajmal on this pitch. Plus our main strike bowler isn't playing and one of our better batsman is ill. And 175/4 may be a good score up to this point. And we can still afford to consolidate our position at the top, and we don't want to get Worcs the chance of taking top spot.

Balcs said they ( more he than they ) are hopeful of keeping them under 250.

I'm sure he is but nothing yesterday showed that Worcs will lose their last 6 for about 70 but wickets tumbled in other matches so anything's possible. A report commented on the perennially flooded pitch at Worcester suggesting that it is not a true and firm one for batsmen.
Anyway, it's extremely grey with intermittent drizzle in North Dorset so unlikely to be a full day's play.

Same here so surprised again at hearing no play at Worcester till after lunch at the earliest.

By all accounts of yesterday's play the pitch is very slow so difficult to score but hopefully allows enough time to adjust to Ajmal's spin. A slow turner is always better than a quick bouncy turner.

Still at this stage of the game it may be all about the bonus points already.

In The Cricket Paper, Udal has picked his best XI of players he has played against & for. Hants interest is: Robin Smith, Hayden, Clarke, Marshall, Wasim Akram & Warne - he calls the latter "in my eyes the best cricketer who has ever played the game" & makes him captain of the team.
