You're so pessimistic you should support Northants.

They needed about 10 an over and only 1 down when I said it.

From a position where Kent had an excellent chance of beating us, we find ourselves in a position to potentially continue to help our NRR along quite nicely.

Who gets MOM ?? I'd guess Wood for his little cameo and 4 cheap overs.

Very tough one, but Briggs just pipps Carberry for me.

That boundary off the final ball was the only boundary we conceded in the final four overs. Time and time again this season we've dried the boundaries right up through the likes of Abbott, Briggs and Wood.

Bad luck to Key, who didn't deserve to lose.

Thankfully though, Stevens, Claydon and Bell-Drummond all did.

Claydon in particular should be embarrassed at having a (substantially) higher economy than Ervine. He's actually picked for his bowling!

Not a great performance but still sufficient to win, a good sign.

I'd give it to Key because he's a bloody nice bloke but I guess it will be Briggs or Carberry.

For me, our batting ability/potential is summed up by the fact that Vince, Maxwell and Ervine all failed today, whilst Shah never managed to get going, and yet we still passed the 170 mark (which at the Rose Bowl is almost always a score that gives you a strong chance of winning).

A lot of sides can't even afford for two of their main batsmen to fail. We can afford for four of them to.

Anyone watching on tv care to explain the two bowled/stumped third umpire decisions? On the way back from the ground and there seemed to be a bit of confusion.

Briggs to Stevens: The ball just, just shaded the outside of the leg-stump, knocking off one bail to bowl him. At one point it looked like it was going to comfortably slide past the leg stump.

Wood to Key: Ball missed the stumps, Wheater took it right down by his feet and immediately knocked the stumps over. But Key was behind the crease, having not yet walked off (who, like everyone else bar presumably Wheater, thought he has been bowled), so was not out.

I see Carbs got MOM, can't complain with that, thought Briggs and Wood stood a chance though.

The clincher could have been the fact he was left out of the test squad earlier in the day, bit of a sympathy vote.
