Gale and Rashid played two of the worst shots I have seen. Bresnan left a straight one. Peters played a bizarre shot. Newton had his head in the air. The Northants bowlers generally bowled well, apart from some legside rubbish from Chambers. Brooks' first two overs were poor but when he changed ends he bowled well. Bresnan was initially unthreatening but improved. Pattinson was unthreatening but tidy. Plunkett bowled dross. The real difference was the fielding. Northants missed nothing, Yorkshire dropped 2. It was a bowlers day, there was some movement and a little bit of inconsistent bounce but 17 wickets in a day was ridiculous.

Slightly. I was with my dad yesterday and he commented on how few regulars were there. Of course several were at Twickenham. There were plenty of visiting Yorkshire supporters which is unusual as I rarely come across many away supporters.
