If there is no play in a game then all players from the 2 counties will be classified as DNP.

I am equally *modded* if the school groundsman cannot get a game started - 10 KP Rejects would sextuple their wickets taken (Allenby's 5) and add 158 runs scored by Muchall

the warks sub wk took a few catches which would of won me the game had ambrose been able to keep, likewise sibo getting injured in the same week has cost me...i deserve some luck

Does the toss feature?

if the toss was made, but no play took place, then the teams would be known and, I presume, the players would be classed as playing, but scoring no points. However if no toss was made, then no teams would be announced so the players would have to be classified as not playing.

I think you either, going forward, have to have a strict interpretation or a lenient one.

By that, I mean that you either have to say any player named in a squad, even if they don't get on the pitch, gets zero.... or, should they play in a rain effected match and not get the opportunity to bowl or bat, should be discredited.

I don't, for instance, see the difference between a number 5 batsman who never leaves the pavilion because 10 overs are possible in 4 days, and an opener who never leaves the pavilion even though, by technical rights, his team have won the toss and the innings is considered open.

Situation one is clearer, even if it is harsher. I prefer option 2 I think it keeps it fairer.

I am just about to start the MW6 update, but thought it prudent to clear up rain affected matches.

Practically there can be little difference between declaring players DNP pre- or post- toss if there is not any play at all. How many times has a CC 4 day match had no play whatsoever after the toss has been made

With regard to some players being DNP if they haven't batted or bowled in a rain affected game, then someone having a player bowling just one ball would feel hard done by!

So for future games it will be:

No toss = DNP

Toss and no play = 0 points

Toss and play = points as earned

Hopefully the weather will perk up and it won't matter anyway
