They need a big-ish over here.

One boundary in the last five.

Zaidi being the same "finisher" as Gatting/Smith were for us last week.

Make that one boundary conceded in the last six overs.

I know we weren't bowling to anything particularly special, but still, that it some great death bowling - not something we're known for.

Will Smiths cameo at the end and 4 overs were ultimately the difference

Could perhaps end up being dropped on Sunday if it's not a turner and we just use Smith and Ervine as our 5th bowler?

Jolly well done Hampshire, anyone think that Shah and Zaidi might be related?

It's at an outground, which would suggest possibly a postage-stamp of a pitch.

That, together with his one over today, I think will see Taylor dropped. His only saving grace might be that the only real alternatives are Bates and Gatting.

Great win - it felt like we were a few short at one stage, but a really professional confident performance that bodes well.
The good news is that everyone seems to be taking points off each other, so we are back in the mix. It was a big game for us tonight at such an early stage.

I don't usually say these sorts of things, but.......................

If Vince doesn't get some sort of run in one of the England sides this season, then England are stupid.

If he isn't the most in form batsman in county cricket (whose name isn't Ian Bell) then I don't know who is.

Every time he comes to the crease, he seems to score heavily.

I know people prat on about Titchy Taylor, but James Vince is 'the man' atm

I normally don't notice these things about other counties players, but this year, I'm the one who has to add up all his points in the various FLs. If Vince isn't the first player to 1000 runs this season, I'll eat my hat (unless it's Daryl Mitchell)

Hes in better form than Bell, has 151 more FC runs & over 20 runs an innings better. The incredible thing about Vince is his SR is over 80 this season and hit over 100 4s already.

Daryl Mitchell is the most in form in FC only, both competitions combined has Vince leading.

Just read the BBC "match report" ( if you can call it that ) from our game, Will Smith wasn't mentioned once.

Says alot about the quality of the BBC.
