with wood having not batted and abbott yet to fire, we still need a late hitter, and personally i'd prefer wheater ahead of him ( who is also in form ), but i wont complain if coles is promoted.

Brad Taylor making his t20 debut is a surprise, but then again without him we would have been left with just Briggs and Smith to bowl spin. And to be honest, even though Wood at no.8 is probably a touch too high given his lack of match fitness, it's not as if Bates or Gatting would have done too much for us batting at no.8.

Plus, with Sussex having Beer, Yardy, Zaidi and RHB in their team, it wouldn't be surprising if the pitch they have prepared will suits spinners.

No Carberry, which on first look appears a tad unfair given that Woakes has been released. But then again, Hove is in the opposite direction to Durham. And also, Woakes did say on SKY just a moment ago that he did have a say in his release. So it might well be that Carberry himself said that he'd rather stay with the team, and presumably take part in full practice with them today and tomorrow.

Wouldn't mind us bringing Coles in next, because they're going to have Arafat bowling at the death, and few t20 bowlers have as much experience as him.

This is actually now Wheater's highest t20 score.

Doubt he's batted at no.3 too many times (if ever) before though.

I'd braced myself for the possibility of a scratchy Shah innings. Very little cricket recently.

But should improve game by game.

8.57 after 14, we need a big over of 15+ soon...wouldn't be happy defending less than 180
