Any idea on whats up with Abbott, Brendy ??

I hope its a case of something minor and us not bowling him because there was no need rather than him being incapable.

no LVCC game for a while, so no panic.

No idea. Was at work today so only managed to catch the 30 mins before lunch on the radio.

Just know that he picked up some sort of knock/injury.

Interesting to read on cricinfo that four of the byes conceded were as a result of a Briggs delivery turning and going past first slip. That in itself says a lot about the pitch, let alone the fact that Briggs is no big turner of the ball.

Just read the report on cricinfo, and in the comments section, some idiot has said :

Good to see Coles doing well. At least one of the new non-overseas signings is proving his worth.

If anyone thinks Smith has been anything but a success this season, they are stupid.

Not really sure we had the upper hand on day one or two, it was pretty much even steven all the way through until the end of day two.

He's done ok, nothing outstanding yet.

A lesson in history (and sport?) is that the victor can write the result! Certainly it will look a thrashing in the record book but it seemed cut and thrust for half the match.

When did we last dismiss a team for under 100?

If you include the back end of last season, we have now gone ten LVCC game unbeaten (we finished last season with two draws and then two wins).

In fact, 12 June was the last time we lost a LVCC to any other side currently in D2 with us.

The closest I can find so far is Glamorgan declaring on 103-9, I'll keep looking.

Last season in FC cricket there were 12 totals below 100 but none against Hants & none by Hants!

Good to see Wood back one game earlier than expected. Saves us having to use Tommo or Balcombe.

I know that Carberry isn't in the squad, but I'm not going to be completely guided by that. Last season England only released Briggs to us at the last minute, having not previously been named in our squad.

Taylor and Gatting to miss out (hopefully!) from that 13. Bates too, should Carberry be made available. I will be one unhappy bunny if they again select Gatting ahead of Wheater.
