We had 5 wins last year.

Probably need a stack of draws to add to those 5 wins and minimal losses.

Also to continue with amassing lots of bonus points - excellent start with batting although I recall only 3 tons - Vince (2) & Carbs. Unfortunately McManus' pair of tons are unlikely to feature very highly anywhere!

Didn't Warwicks or Lancs recently win Div 1 or get promoted with only 5 wins but possibly 11 draws & no defeats?

I did fear that Wood wouldn't be fit in time.

Wheater and Briggs for Gatting and Tomlinson, I would presume - even those the latter two are both in the squad.

Slight concern that without Wood and Maxwell, we're seemingly going to have to rely on a full eight overs from Coles and Ervine. Only other options would be to throw the ball to Vince, Carberry or Smith, or surprise everyone by picking Tommo (most likely in place of Bates). Not sure I like any of those three options.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

Wood did play today for the 2nd XI in 2 games, so he can't be far away

plus he was poor last year.

Smith isn't the worst t20 bowler, he would sometimes open the bowling for us and there was often a case for him to bowl more than he did...maybe that was more down to the cannon fodder from the 'specialist' bowlers but he is capable of making useful bowling contributions.

Not a good start! Come on lads. Vince said he was nervous before the match - we won't have Carbs for the next 3 games & still no Maxwell so we'll need a win tonight.

Dawsons retired hurt, seems to be in some discomfort, can't even play a proper shot, pulled a muscle.

31 needed off 18 balls.

Coles and Smith at the crease, I am not confident.
