Dawson gone for 10, all 3 to Smith

Benks did say last night, that if their last wicket held on for a little bit and got the lead above 100, we could struggle.

Top of the table, and unbeaten, after pretty much one third of the season already gone.

More batting points than anyone else in country, despite having three games heavily rain affected and being put into bat in all of those matches (Durham and Leicester both however have sufficient games in hand to potentially have more than 18 batting points after 5 games). And to put that into context (because one could argue that we've maybe been playing on flat pitches), four of our five opponents have a grand total of just 20 batting points between them!!

And all despite effectively playing with only ten me.

Brilliant start to the season. Now to continue this on Friday night.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

A great start to the season especially as the weather has been poor & a couple of the batsmen have not really got going. However, the points are in the bag. A friend who is a Hampshire member reckons 5 wins will see us (or anyone else) promoted - we will see!

Good to see Wheater and Wood playing.
