Good start so far, particularly dismissing Rudolph for a duck.

Nice to see us winning the toss (and thus being able to bowl first, albeit no rain around for a change) for a change this season.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

Makes the last "match" even more meaningless. Despite the relative weakness of the opposition two centuries in a match is not a common feat - many great batsmen never managed it. Last season in the English FC season (which included a large number of Uni matches) it was only achieved 4 (four) times.
Interestingly the fastest 100 (against genuine bowling) was against Cambridge Uni - by Rossington (Middlesex) off 55 balls &
most sixes in an innings (against genuine bowling) was by Patel (Notts) who hit 12!
Those feats will be forever in the record books but McManus will not even get a footnote!

I think Gatting may turn out to be one of Benkensteins favourites!

Maxwells just come out to bat in the IPL, if any of you are interested.

Could have done with another wicket or two in the first 20 overs as I haven't got much confidence in our second string. Gatting may get a bowl at some stage!

So far, so good. Hopefully another burst from Tommo and Abbott after lunch will see us into the tail before long.

Wallace will be in before Wagg, and he's handy (excuse the pun).

But yes, I'm not aware that the bottom three have that much about them.

I think I prefer this, Abbott then Tommo, rather than both at the same time.
