You don't need rain, you'll survive comfortably.

Maybe not.

Cricket is also played in the mind as well as on the pitch. 4th day seems to play tricks with some players.

What a shame at OT, they took tea at 3pm when it wasn't raining, back out to the middle and guess what.

Still, a good performance by Sussex again.

I wonder if there's any way the ECB could devise a way of rewarding two sides drawing a match in which one of them is utterly dominant?

It would have to be mathematically based, of course. Bonus points go part of the way but in the current Durham v Yorkshire match, for instance, the way the total points may be divided would not reflect performance and merit.

Why take a f***king break when they have been "breaking" all frigging day!! :angry

Honestly, I try and explain and defend this game to foreigners all the time, but there are some idiosyncrasies to cricket that even drive me mental!

'Pilchard begins his long run in from short stump. He bowls and ...oh, he's out! Yes, he's got him. Longwilley is caught leg-before in middle slops by Grattan. Well, now what do you make of that, Neville?'

'That's definitely one for the books, Bruce. I don't think I've seen offside medium slow fast pace bowling to match it since Baden-Powell took Rangachangabanga for a maiden ovary at Bangalore in 1948.'

I think the part of cricket which endears it to the USA is the tea break.

God what a depressing thought, McDonalds at cricket! A Bail burger with stump fries.

Good job Hove has the Cricketers or the Hog roast failing that.

Sussex were doomed today, it's still bloody raining in Manchester.

Wondering how much cricket will be played today? Many games look as if they will be start-stop-start...... games a horror for batsmen.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.
