Yorkshire batsmen not good against spin, also what cameras can't pick is the flight of the ball.

There is no spin. Colville has just described Stoneman as a "lobby off-spinner". He's right about the lobby bit. There'll be nothing unusual about the flight of the ball - laws of physics and aerodynamics and all that.

It would be embarrasing to get out to a part-time spinner, just treat each ball on it's merits and punish any bad ball.

Stoneman is bowling 5 or 6 bad balls an over. Playing for the team and not to avoid personal embarrassment would be a better idea. This dawdling around could cost us victory.

Been on nights last few days, so just turned this on.

Must declare at tea, or now, preferably.

Bresnan looks like he's lost a few pounds.

Highest SR of the innings as it stands. Not that that's saying much.

Maybe Yorkshire want to see what the new ball is doing before making the declaration.

Whatever it's doing won't allow Yorkshire to start with an old ball.

I'd have preferred another hour in the match to bowl at Durham.

I thought exactly the same, at 500 the match was probably safe, if Durham had matched that it would have ended in a draw, now they have to play for a draw anyway with less time to worry about doing it. Also Yorks have sent out a message, to other counties, that they are going to be cautious in nature. Why not declare a bit earlier and keep people guessing.

Problem with declaring earlier is Durham would only need to score 350 to avoid the follow on, which is do-able considering Yorkshire reached that total with 3 wickets down.

Maybe Yorkshire could've scored that bit faster to reach over 600, but the declaration was well timed as a Durham win is almost eliminated. If Durham manage to avoid the follow on then it would be done well into Day 4.

Eckersley would be getting England recognition by now if he was playing for a more fashionable county.
