When you put a side into bat, and there's rain around, you should really be knocking them over for 250 maximum. Ideally 200.

So from our perspective, it's so far, so good - even though progress has been slightly slow going.

If he could find his way to 30, I'd be happy.

200 up, 1st batting point, run rate isn't great, but nothing Coles and Ervine can't fix at some point.

Started 30mins late, and had a 45-60min delay not long after lunch.

Maxwell has raced to 73*, after an impressive 95 the other day...we own the best T20 batsman in the world.

My suggested t20 XI for us the other day had him down at about no.6, akin to where we played him in 2012. Given his current and recent form however, we surely need to bat him higher, probably at no.4.

Now there's no point bringing Jimmy in at no.6 or no.7. He's no finisher. So unless we drop him, he too is going to have to bat in the four. Which means we'll once again have to muck around with Slug's position no doubt, as we've done throughout his career. He wont be able to bat any higher than 5.

Gatting up to 25 now.

Gatting was dropped on 14 and offered a chance narrowly missed on 19.

I think Jimmy will sit the T20s out,

Smith out for 70..last ball before the new ball, disappointing the timing, but great score :salute

Annoying time for Smith to get out. The ball before the new ball. Exposes Slug and the rest now.

New choice of nightwatchman.
