Should be a really exciting day today & no weather delays/interruptions forecast! It would be great if we could rattle off the runs & lose only a couple of wickets but I feel that is unlikely. It is definitely the sort of match that a team aiming for promotion should win.
Hants had a brilliant Monday & after the first innings of each side definitely had the upper hand after a disappointing Sunday. Glos have shown real fight though & we can't afford to let them have another hour's batting while we use various bowlers to get the last wicket!

The Club can confirm Adam Wheater has fractured his finger. He won't keep today, but may bat if required. #LVCC

Really sad news, let's hope it's a simple fracture and he'll be back soon. Rikki Clarkes fracture means at least 4 weeks out missing at least the next 3 CC games.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Because I can't see them wanting to bat Bates at 7 (after all, even Wheater is down at 8), Wheater's injury will probably lead to Gatting getting another chance or two.

Can I have it?! Bad luck for Wheater, that's a real shame. I hope he recovers quickly.

I don't really have one, maybe we can improve hants/Sussex relations by chipping in and having some made?

Well I give thanks every day that I was born just a few miles to the east of the Sussex Brewery in Emsworth, but I do hope Joe turns it round and does well for Hampshire this year. He's Sussex born and bred so he's one of us no matter what, (unless he signs for you know who one day, not likely)

Can Gatting bowl? Is he a good slipper? There must be a reason we signed him because surely it can't be for his batting alone.

Don't agree with that.

Adams, Carbs, Daws, Vince, Smith, Slug, Bates, Coles, Balcombe, Abbott is still strong.

I can't recall seeing him bowl, but yards used to field him at short leg a lot. Put down some chances but it's a tough job in that close. Decent catcher, never got a chance to slip with Rory abd yards in the team

I wasn't giving my opinion on whether it was or it wasn't.

I was simply stating that if they're not even batting Wheater at 7, then I can hardly see them batting Bates at 7.
