Who dropped them ? and who was bowling ?

No idea who was bowling.

Coles and then, I think, Dawson dropped them. Both in the slips by the sounds of it.

Or none at all... Disappointing start to the season with the bowling at the moment, just gotta hope it improves.

I want to wait til we bat before I judge, but based on us choosing to bowl, it looks poor.

Probably always a temptation to bowl in early season, I sometimes wonder if it's not better to lose the toss & let the other team make the decision.

Just looking at our fixtures, why do have a university game 4 game into the season? Shouldn't they all be at the start so that 1)They give players a chance to get into form/practice 2)They get the worst of the weather instead of the meaningful games getting it.

292/5 at stumps, Gloucs day, but we aren't out of it, a few quick wickets 1st thing opens the game up.

Theres only so many Unis, and I think EVERY side plays a Uni side once ( I may have just made that up ), plus im not complaining, Balcs,Gatting, Terry, Bates etc. need the game time.

A pretty poor start to the season so far in all aspects, hoping things will pick up soon.

Can't disagree with that! Obviously we'll have to wait until Hants bat before coming to a balanced & informed opinion. However, a poor decision to field first if we can only get 5 wickets in a day when they were tumbling in many matches yesterday. Every season Hants have a Caribbean jolly, every season they disappoint in their opening matches. One day they will come back refreshed from the Bahamas, etc score lots of runs, take lots of wickets & hold on to their catches.....one day..........

They have a long tail, we could still skittle them for under 350 and be in a decent position. Howell not playing ( injured ? ) seems to leave them a batsman short.

As for the Carribean, i really don't think its linked, I think not playing a Uni game pre-season may be hurting us slightly.
