Positive from Hants, moving the game on quickly with all the rain around!

Batting in these early season conditions must be a lottery.

I can't think of ANYONE I'd rather have out there than Jimmy Adams though

Hopefully Adams will have a top season this year - he's one player that you would want batting for you - he gets stuck in like Boycott & Tavare in the distant past.
Carbs will hopefully put his England treatment behind him - some hot dry wickets are probably want he needs.

Liked the comment re Smith & Gatting - how Robin & Mike would have been preferred!

Well that was a crap first day of the season. Another lousy forecast tomorrow with maybe enough time to polish off our innings. Then the sun comes out on Tuesday for when Worcs start their first innings.

Today was the Dolphins last game of the season, so I see no reason why Abbott won't be here next week ( presumably replaces Gatting unless he does something spectacular ), unless he needs a week or so off after a long season.

Thats the beauty of winning the toss, I suppose. Need to bat for as many bonus points as we can get.

No play today. Oh well, I'll just read my Hampshire Cricket Handbook 2014 under a bright light at home & pretend I'm at the cricket!

What a difference the sun makes.

Terrific first knock by Adams so far, has he decided to go for a more positive approach in the CC this season. Smith digging in at the start of his first meaningful innings for the county which is understandable.

I think this is how Smith always plays, digs in and grinds out every run rather than a fluent scorer, although 1 of the Durham lads can maybe tell me otherwise.
