At the end of last season Woakes, Moeen Ali, Robson and Onions were the 4 that I was looking at from outside the Eng squad who i thought really should be in with a shout at being in the Eng team soon.

Good to see they are all doing well. However, with Stokes having come through, the Eng selectors may hold back on Woakes, and the Onions blindspot may remain as well. Robson and Ali must have a real shout at the test team though.

Prior was dropped in Australia, surely he'll have to make runs for Susex before being considered again?

Maybe, but can anyone see Bairstow keeping his spot? Prior seems to be talking as if he's still a part of the side.

Prior was dropped for averaging low 30s for the last two years. Bairstow hasn't exactly set the world on fire, but he's not been given that run he needs as of yet. Both his appearances in Australia and New Zealand came off the back of playing very little cricket before coming into the side.

Personally I'd like to see Bairstow given a proper run, or even Buttler for that matter.

Buttler's hardly kept in fc cricket. he feels like a huge long shot. Bairstow may have only kept (badly) in the Ashes, but he's had a run with the bat and didn't impress. He was dropped last summer, and I think he was England were quite reluctant to get him back into the side.

Of course, Miller and Flower have gone. Everything may be different now.

I have no favourite personally. Prior's been fantastic for England, but he's lost form and behaving like an arse. Bairstow looks short of quality and Buttler's not ready or proven.

I think they'll go back to Prior. He is a known quantity, at a time when they are having to look at a number of new players
