There may be troubles ahead: England selection issues.

Maybe for England. Alan Knott will have batted there a bit, but Prior's a better batter than Knotty.

Not for South Africa perhaps. I guess Matt is better than Klusener, or Pollock though. Hadlee and Vettori were not as good as MP.

I always would have had Prior at six, though that's not likely now. Probably he'll bat at seven and Woakes won't play. Prior has work to do to hang on to his place too.

Best averages of those who have batted at eight and scored 1000 runs there.

Dhoni averages 70 at eight, but has only batted there 11 times.

That list suggests Broad's batting is undervalued at times.

a pity that Borthwick only managed to end up being the 3rd highest run scorer on the tour with a 40 average..... he might have made your shortlist if he'd finished higher up the stats table. :halo:

lots of good batting practice for Durham. He should start the season at no.3 in very good order.

Needs to do more work on his bowling econ, although his wicket tally and strike rate were roughly on a par with the other bowlers

As I've said before........ Steve Smith! Don't rule it out

Prior was dropped in Australia, surely he'll have to make runs for Susex before being considered again?

Well I thought Steve Smith when I looked at the table. I didn't mention him because, if he is challenging for a place, it's as a spinner. But a good effort with the bat.

Maybe, but can anyone see Bairstow keeping his spot? Prior seems to be talking as if he's still a part of the side.

you did note Scotty's runs later on AC

His tour stats with the ball look much better than his unofficial test bowling figures.

Maybe I suppressed his runs as a means of promoting my pro Woakes agenda.

Fourth highest runscorer in the 'Tests' by the way. Woakes was third. ;)

Calling up Bell, Giles describes him at a good bloke. And comments that the team is working well together.

I'm tired of this post KP propaganda already.

the thought had crossed my mind

I like your pro Woakes agenda, AC. I'd be very happy to see him in the England side.

perhaps I ought to start a twitting and @rsebook campaign.... build up some early momentum for the Woakes, Finn, Kerrigan triumvirate... that way Stokes, Onions and Borthwick could link up with the England squad for the India series with Durham having already secured their 4th CC trophy in 7 years :D

Durham will get those three off their wage bill before the season starts anyway. They'll all be at Surrey. But you will be able to afford an overseas player.

Notts! and it looks as if Marcus North might not even have to be an OS player, so we can sign Johno as well. Woo hoo!

It seems that Robbo managed to accumulate 3 centuries on this tour. That's pretty impressive.
