I've not often criticised Prior for things he's said!

What a soap opera this is turning out to be! KPs tweets today are an indication that probably the correct decision was made to "sack" him. Prior could do with been careful over his comments to... KPs england career is a sunken ship, dont get dragged down to by point scoring against him

I've backed both of these players. Here I think that Prior is at fault. As someone that KP feels was in part responsible for the events that led to his sacking, it was quite inflammatory for Matt to suggest that England will in any way be better off without him. Even so, I think most people would prefer if Pietersen didn't get involved, however mild his response.

I read somewhere that Swann said that he shouldn't be replying publicly, and he should of phoned Prior to sort issues and not air dirty laundry via twitter.

That's fair enough, but he was responding to a public interview from Prior.

He did also say that Prior shouldn't of done a Q and A, he wasn't biased.

Well that's reasonable. Maybe Swanny should have rung them both up and told them rather than saying on TMS though....

It must have been an awful dilemma for a while, but its eventual resolution was probably never in doubt.

The aftermath of the last Ashes was never going to be pretty - it's certainly turning out that way.

I don't think this is the 'legacy' they had in mind - a bit of 'pause and reflect' wouldn't come amiss.

This may be the outcome of the release of feelings that people have had to keep bottled up for a long time whilst they were members of the same team. It's difficult to think there wouldn't have been any with a character like Peitersen in it.

I agree that it's not a very edifying spectacle. All it needs now is for Piers Morgan to get involved.

You give Piers too little credit. He got involved very quickly yesterday...

"Swann stabbing @KP24 in the back again today - just as he stabbed all his colleagues in the back by quitting this winter. Gutless coward."

Also tend to follow any former/current/prospective England players.

Really? I've not been keeping up with it to be honest. I wonder if Pietersen has ever had the nous to realise that with friends like Morgan, who would need enemies? Probably not.

Good tour for England in SL. Successes were Taylor, Robson and Woakes with the bat and Onions and Woakes with the ball.
