Not as good as India's seniors once were but better than they were when they were dropped. England also unlike India have to find nearly a complete new batting unit at once rather than over a period of years.

That England selectors will have to accommodate more new comers is due to their management. Trott is by now way near retirement age for specialist batsmen, nor was KP.They both had 5 and 4 years respectively to even get as old as 37.That is enough cricket left in a player.

Questions to KP: Source (DD twitter)

"We love you in India more than they do back there, don't we?" @KP24: "Umm, I don't know... It feels that way at the moment."

@KP24: I really love the Delhi Daredevils family & the fans have really been great.I am really looking forward to be part of this team again

KP on Gary: He is one of the outstanding Coaches.I always wanted to work with for a long long time. I am really looking forward

Also, reminded (jokingly) that Yuvi is in Delhi squad and looking to bowl to you.He did avoid that question and said Yuvi did call him in morning but that was for some other reason.

Like discussed here on this thread about the cricket following he has here and in England as well as likely captaincy of Delhi, KP is eager to be captain. He was very modest saying that "In this few weeks he will get to learn from the local youngsters at times about somethings".

========================================================================================================
What do you guys think about KP as a captaincy material. How well has he done for various teams that he has captained :?: I do think he should be given Delhi captaincy and looks to be the obvious candidate.

Four wickets for Woakes as England roll SLA over. But both openers fail for England. A huge lead. Interesting that Moeen bowled rather than Borthwick.

Woakes has the misfortune of competing with Stokes for a single place, which is a shame. In what position does Ali bat at county level?

Could woakes and stokes both play? If woakes batted at 8, could both equally take the 3rd seamer position if they played? Woakes has taken nearly 300 wickets at 25 for warks?

Isn't Woakes a new ball bowler?

I wouldn't have thought so. Stokes is the player in possession, so will probably play, with Bresnan, also the player in possession, at #8.

County form leading up to the tests may have a bearing too.

Can see them dropping bresnan tbh, i understand the stokes and woakes theory but surely he is someone should look at getting in? Arguably could go on to be a better bowler then bres and probably a better batsmen already

Are we talking tests? Will they want Woakes and Stokes as our third and fourth seamers?

Woakes has a chance of playing Tests. He is the stand out seamer in CC, according to results.

never been that impressed with him, although that's mainly been in ODI's. We could do a five seam attack of course? Mmm, no, maybe not. I hope Onions gets a chance this summer.

I understand the clamour for onions but looking at his shelf it would be a very short term solution, woakes takes a lot of wickets for warks and i dont see why he cant be considered as a test player? The bizzare thing is woakes one day record is poor, so why do england try him in that format? I never understood that mentality "this kid could play test cricket lets play him in odis first"
