We seem to have to disparate lines of history (futural) going here, one that suggests Pietersen replaces the Queen with himself, the other suggesting that Britain becomes a republic.

Perhaps we need to consult the The Great Man himself.

Constitutionally, KP has the X factor, and shot power to call a republic and install who he likes as President. If this proves to be a massively bearded Flower, driven crazy by 20 years in imprisonment, bent on a Richard III style of jealousy and senseless destruction, then so be it. We retain the right to sing the national anthem at Australians though, changing the words very slightly.
