Spot Fixing?

What's buzzing in the world of cricket....

The High Court has issued Summons for Westfield to appear at Kaneria's appeal.

For someone who has plead guilty to being involved in spot fixing to be so desperate not to appear in front of the appeal makes little to no sense.

As if International cricketers,IPL cricketers and county cricketers fixing was not enough. Now even the umpires are getting fixed.More reason to get DRS to rule out misuse of decision making power by fixed umpires. One day we might hear that even the third umpires and match referees are fixed. :no

Pakistan ban two umpires for corruption

Vows to play on after his ban is overturned. The big question is who would have him after his role in this has been revealed?

Isn't this all about PCL?

I can imagine that he could play again if some form of truth and reconciliation policy is followed.

Well that will be limited because of his criminal record. I doubt any of them will be able to play in the UK again. I don't know if they will be able to tour other countries.

When the IPL goes to America, I presume that he will be barred. Although, his sense of corporate greed may appeal to some of their decision makers.

And his name to their sense of humour.

I suppose he doesn't have to worry about IPL. The BPL might be a possible?

Sreesanth, Ajit Chandilla and Ankeet Chavan are under arrest. All three of them play for Rajasthan Royals in IPL.The special cell tracked calls made by bookies and cricketers before arresting them.It is being said that there are many more cricketers involved in fixing but police do not have enough evidence so they are not being arrested.

About 10 news channels that i switched are broadcasting this shocking news.

In previous version of IPL5 Indian players were banned from IPL, but there are lot of shameless cricketers in Indian cricket.

I am giving up on watching cricket. These shameless people are just too huge in number in International cricket, IPL, County and many other tournaments. It is waste of time to watch a fixed match.Better is i would got to my club and play there for 2 hours or a 50 over match than wasting my time on fixed matches. Or use this time for gym or other purpose. At the moment i have given up on watching cricket (IPL,County,International) cricket.

That seems a rather drastic decision, adi; I can understand it, but I don't think I would do it.

No, it's not drastic.Every time i have thought the shameless cricketers will learn from punishments to others. But the fixing incident has happened numerous times (IPL previous version where 5 were banned, County cricket incident, international (Butt etc), Ranji (Goa) even after the first punishment. Now i do not trust every cricketer. Convinced that enough percentile of these matches are fixed at all levels in all countries. Given enough chances to these. But cricket is my passion.Better is i use the times saved by watching matches to go to the nets and play 20,40 and 50 overs match at my club with full integrity rather than watch fixed matches. My point is I am passionate about playing cricket but not watching it on TV anymore. Once ok, twice okay but I can't trust after the 5th or 6th time. This is playing for country.Thank God they are not in Indian Army.Bloody traitors.Just few mins of scorecard browsing to track of what legends do is enough to be aware.

Say it aint so, Joe.

Understandable and admirable moral stance Adi. Fixed sport isn't sustainable.
