In a rather strange development Bangladesh have canceled their January tour of Pakistan citing security concerns. I say strange because the PCB confirmed it was going ahead only last week!

Also the Dhaka High Court has issued a restraining order preventing any Bangladeshi player playing in Pakistan.

A bit of a surprise given that he's only 34.

Retiring from first class cricket is quite a big ask.

Makes more sense for him to retire from second class cricket

Henry Williams seems to be trying to reopen the Cronje files by claiming that neither he nor Gibbs were actually offered money by Cronje but were told to bulk up their stories to make a better case against Cronje.

Rather damning claims if true but Gibbs seems to have no interest in revisiting the scene of the crime rather understandably.

It's very odd for him to come out saying things about the King Commission after all these years, what's the point? Hansie tragically died nearly a decade ago now and all of the other players have moved on.

He still said this,

"When I put my shirt over my head, he [Cronje] said, 'Hey, let's throw this game'. I said, 'Ja, let's throw this game'. Because now he's smiling with me and I'm smiling with him - if you're going to *modded* me I'm going to *modded* you, so fine. There was nothing involved.

"At lunchtime, he [Cronje] came to me and said, 'We scored too many runs'. I looked at him and said, 'What do you mean?' He said, 'Guys, the deal is off'. I said, 'So what?' He never spoke to us about money - you're going to get this and you must go for that". It implies that as per him Cronje was still involved.

The lawyers do make a valid point,

The lawyers who represented Williams and Gibbs at the King Commission, senior counsel Mike Fitzgerald and attorney Peter Whelan, deny that they had convinced Williams to lie on the stand. "That's outrageous," Fitzgerald said. "Why would I give my own client a version that implicates him? If I somehow persuaded him to lie, to whose benefit would that be?" Whelan called the allegations, "fundamental rubbish".
