Anyone know when this Athers' interview with Amir is on? Quoted in cricinfo as saying he apologises, but he did nothing wrong...

I created a thread for it.

It was on at 6 today. On at 9 again I think.

In the other thread I've posted the full transcript.

Thanks ddb. On my guide, SS1 has no information. Presume that's it then. Can't imagine the programme will be that informative, but I'll give it a go. The report on cricinfo isn't that auspicious.

Sunday will be the 20th anniversary of Pakistan winning the World Cup at the MCG.

It still amazes me how a dollop like Dereck Pringle took 3 for 22 off 10 overs.

Tickets for the World Twenty20 cost as little as US $0.25 for the single group games and the final itself is priced between US $2.50 and US $45.

I would have called him a legend of the game if his record outside the SC was at least half decent. Its not though. Its terrible. I am not talking about his average outside SL btw,but outside the whole of Asia.

That however doesnt take away anything from what he has acheived in the SC. He has been incredible in this part of the world and deserves a lot of credit for that. Definitely one of the top 4 players of spin I have seen. The other three being Lara, Sachin and Sehwag.

What I find more ''baffling'' are the comments that ''Sachin is selfish. He plays for records and he'll retire as soon as he gets that 100th 100'' even though the man himself has stated otherwise.

It is. I am not talking about his record outside SL. But his record outside the entire subcontinent.
He averages below 27 in SA and NZ. 34 in Eng and Aus. Not very exciting is it?
Has done ok on slow pitches in WI though.
However that doesnt undermine on turning pitches in the subcontinent. He is freakishly good at that. And playing spin is just as tough as playing seam bowling IMO.

But in order to be called a true legend you must do reasonably well on all types of pitch IMO. I am not, for one second, expecting him to average over 50 outside the subcontinent. But he should at least an avg of close to 40. And he has always had the natural talent tbh. Sadly it hasnt translated into performances :(
He still has one more tour left of each of the countries IMO to set the record straight. Hopefully, he will do well. Wont call him a legend until then though.
A Sri Lankan legend? Yes. Only next to Sanga IMO.
An All Time Great? No.

IMO,of course. And a lot of people share that view. You might feel that performing brilliantly in the subcontinent is enough for all time greatness. I believe you must perform on different types of pitches. Nothing to be baffled about. Just agree to disagree :thumb
