yeah but that doesn't explain why the FA haven't taken any action domestically against terry

Surely they would have to wait until he's found guilty?

why ?

the rules of evidence are very different and suarez wasn't even reported to the police let alone charged but the FA banned him for 8 games

what constitutes a charge of bringing the game into disrepute under the FA rules is quite different from what would lead to criminal charges being brought

if he is found guilty, and personally i dont think he should be, then it will be interesting to see what the FA do. him getting a £2,500 fine is meaningless when he earns £100,000+ a week

It's strange how certain incidents occur on a football field such as a mass brawl - obviously you get disciplined by the FA but the police don't take action. If the same thing happened in the street everyone would be arrested.

We were discussing this the other day. Even if a brawl occurred in a Sunday morning match the police would probably just watch if they were there.

Evra went to shake Suarez's hand but Suarez refused. Evra wasn't happy.

Hand shakes before the game should be scrapped anyway.

Neither party has come out of that smelling of roses. Suarez should have just shook Evra's hand and moved on, but haven't not done so then Evra shouldn't have reacted like he did.

But that said, I'm with Aidan. These handshakes before games are pointless.

Evra's the victim, what did you expect to him to do when the guy who was racist to him didn't shake his hand? It's all so pathetic.

Sadly it will overshadow the actual football on the pitch.

Both managers will be asked about it in the post-match interviews. Fergie will say it was pathetic and Dalglish will screw his face up and say somthing along the lines of it being fair enough.

From the one viewing of it that I saw, it looked like he tried to lamp Suarez one. Two wrongs don't make a right. Suarez was wrong to make the racist comment(s) before. Suarez was wrong to ignore Evra's hand just then (it more than just suggests that either he holds a grudge against Evra and/or still doesn't believe what he did was wrong, both of which shouldn't be the case. Evra, as you say, is the victim). But that doesn't mean that Evra was right to react. If Rio hadn't been in the way, he might have hit Suarez - and that too is indefendable.
