India the Test Future?

What's buzzing in the world of cricket....

Dravid might call time as rumoured in the WI series, looks in a bit of bad nick atm. Bowled 6 times in 8 innings!

At the end of the day, I don't disagree with the succession plan and it needed to be started after the WC. Both Rohit and Kohli should have played at home vs WI. But yeah, we are where are. Now's not the best time, esp at Perth to rebuild.

Ganguly might still be hoping to return.

As a commentator, he showed considerable empathy for Hussey saying he is someone without a godfather among the selectors and that a few failures here and there would be enough to trigger a talk of sacking him, and that age was no barrier for a player as long he was compiling runs. Read between the lines: Ganguly was talking about himself with Hussey as the proxy.

Overall, Ganguly has been an outstanding commentator in the current series with his analysis of strategy and field placements. To me, Ganguly and Ian Chappell combination is the most informative and engrossing.

There is a guy by name Lashid Ratif who is suggesting that Tendulkar should see a psychologist?

Who is this Lashid Ratif? Does he play for Agfanistun?

If they had to drop VVS it should have been after the England series and they had a chance to drop Dravid too after the series in SA. Now India can't drop VVS as the next test is in WACA. You can't ask Sharma to make his debut at WACA!

In 2 years, i would presume that the bowling attack will be Ashwin, Praveen, Ishant, Yadav. They have some decent reserves in Aaron and Irfan but no good seamers after that.

Leadership may be an issue for the future, if this story is to be believed....

http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia-v ... 48970.html

"Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid have denied media reports of a rift in the Indian team over MS Dhoni's leadership and a lack of unity when under pressure. Reports suggested the team was split over Dhoni's captaincy style and even suggested that one group wanted Sehwag, the vice-captain, to take charge. The Indian team is under gag orders that bar the players from speaking to the press outside the designated media interactions but Sehwag responded directly to the allegations of his own role, which appeared in Australian papers on Tuesday."
Nobody has a stance quite like the mighty Shivnarine....

Nope. Absolute bs. If people believe that, they'll believe anything.

Sehwag has said many many times that he doesn't want to be captain too just to make it seem more stupid.
