Finally it is up-to the players to do well but Fletch sometimes seems to get too technical and can be stubborn.

Its a simple thing to do, the 2002/3 tour was a nightmare from an england perspective, starting with Jones going out of the tour on the first day of the frist test.

Everyone who played on that tour seemed to get injured. Chris Silverwood came in as a replacement player but bowled 5 overs before he got injured at WACA :D I somehow forgot that Fletch was the coach then as well.

Is Fletch's record 1-11 and not 0-7 in Australia?

Argh.. then that doesn't look bad at all... quite respectable, indeed.

The one victory came in a dead rubber at Sydney.

Caddick's best bowling in the series if I remember correctly, didnt he get an 8'fer in the Aussies second innings?

He perhaps got a 7for and was perfect for that wicket as the Sydney wicket had developed cracks. Caddick just hit those cracks and OZ didn't have much of a chance. A few lbw decisions went his way but on that wicket he was too good. Unfortunately just like in the past Caddick came good when the series was over.

I know it was his one of his best performances.

It was a fine sight when Caddick got on a roll.

Described by S Waugh as being as talented as GMcG. But without his brain/character.

gotta be realistic here, the guy will turn 38 this year. saying that they should give him a chance just because they stuck with dravid through a bad patch and he came good is flawed logic. its been obvious for a while now that india need to try and stagger the process of replacing the big three and the longer they wait to start that process the more likely its going to be that all three will need replaced within a short space of time and you lose any chance of managing the transition.

it will be far easier to bring in someone now when they still have dravid and tendulkar around than maybe have to replace all three and have a top 6 with 3 or 4 rookies.

He found form in that last innings till he got a boardline unplayable delivery. And he averaged 99 in his last series. The thing is, you do not rebuild your team in the middle of a series that the series is still alive and dropping traditionally your best batsmen after Sachin in Aus. He starts bad, always. He's being made a scapegoat in the media, twitter, forums etc.

Both Dravid and Laxman should go after this series but that's a different thing to picking the team for Perth imo. It's widely accepted that Kohli won't make runs in Perth, so don't pick him, pick Rohit if you back him.

gotta disagree a little , when you are 2-0 down and been well beaten in the last game i would say that changes should be made, one change is not re-building. yeah he made a couple of big scores against the WI but that was at home against weaker bowling. at some point the decision to replace these guys has to be made and i get the impression the selectors just dont want to make that decision and are just waiting for the players themselves to decide to retire.

i agree completely rich...at some point the selectors have to be bold, but i think they are worried about public response in india.

No because then they'd drop Lax like all these commies etc want. And btw one senior is definitely gone after this series, that's without doubt.
