SRT is a modern great and one of only a few in the history of the game that deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Bradman.

Though SRT's official title is 'The Little Master', 'The Master' was Jack hobbs, If SRT can play for as long has he did, well into his late 40's, then he will make many, many more runs possibly even over taking Hobbs 199 FC Tons.

Wonder what ever you want, but I reckon Sachin is the greatest batsman you will ever see in your lifetime. If you can't appreciate how lucky you are to have seen him bat then that is your loss. The self-discipline he has shown to cut down on risky shots as he has got older so as to continue to score big runs is unique in my experience. He is as dangerous now as he was in the nineties.

I always thought Lara was possibly better but Tendulkar's lust for runs is soemething that you cannot argue with. Add to that, his name along with Bradman's is the first on most all-time XI's list (including Cricket historians) says it all.

Yes, it was quite clearly an absurd joke. Why would his pads have any impact on his run making ability?!

Out of Ponting, Lara, Tendulkar, Kallis, Dravid, Sangakkara and Jayawardene (The elite of this modern era), I'm a Lara and Ponting man for pure exceptional brilliance and the ability to totally dominate, but the methodical run machines that are Kallis and Tendulkar just have to be admired and praised.

Anyone who compares SRT and Kallis must have seen very little cricket. No one would say knocks like at WACA in 92, Edgbaston 96, at CT in 96/97, his knock at Centurion against Pak in the 03 WC and all those knocks against Aus in 98 were methodical. It is actually laughable.

If I compare SRT at his peak and Lara at his peak it is very difficult to say whose batting was better to watch but Lara's batting was perhaps slightly better to watch. SRT though just doesn't seem to have a weakness but a bowler would have likely felt that he has bit more of a chance to get Lara out outside the off-stump. I just don't think there has been a better batsman than SRT in the last two decades.

SRT's only weakness in recent times is that he can be a little slow to get his feet moving early in his innings or after a break in play, so can be a bit of an LBW candidate, or getting bowled through the gate by a spinner.

Im a big Kallis fan, and even I can see its ridiculous to attempt to compare the two.

Theres very little between them, I think the fact that Tendulkar has performed consistantly over a long period of time is what gives him the edge in many peoples opinions.
