The PCB have now cancelled Haider's contract. Fair enough I suppose as it doesn't look like he will play for them in the forseeable future but it's a shame the PCB can't have been a bit more sympathetic towards him.

and now Haiders disclosure you still have a lot of belief in purity of the game. Good for you.

Nothing to do with that at all SBA. Haider is making a serious accusation.... one that the press and cricket fans alike have taken to "hook, line and sinker", as being unshakably true.

People can literally throw any accusation at this Pakistani team, and even with no evidence to consider, the press will already make their assumptions and conclusions.

Which is why I say this.....if Haider doesnt speak out with specifics, then this is just a waste of time.... all thats been proved is the press tendancy to condemn Pakistan on general accusations, and the average cricket fans desire to lap it up.

I mean if it had not been Butt who said England were involved, but some other team manager about Pakistan, even such a pathetic and untrue accusation like that would be investigated in a storm.

:lmao

Someone need to know basic facts first before casting aspersions ...

The word "call" is an intransitive verb, and means to "pay a short visit".....

He hasn't mentioned any names to the public, we don't know what has been said to the anti-corruption unit.

Well he doesnt know who approached him, and the wording of his last interview sounded to me like he was saying pretty clearly he wont be saying any pakistani players by name.

Now Afridi for all the people calls Haider as unstable person and labels his behavior childish

"I just don't understand what he (Haider) is trying to do. He has behaved very childishly. He has behaved just like Yasir Hameed had done in England. What is he trying to achieve? In the end he will gain nothing and will lose out as a player," he said.

"Even if he didn't want to come to me or the team management he should have spoken to Abdul Razzaq, who is close to him. They play for the same club in Lahore. He has taken the decision of an unstable person," Afridi said.

It amazing how no current or ex Pakistan player has supported Haider. No wonder cricket is going down in drains.

As Haider has as yet not provided anything but unproveable accusations, then your acceptance of his words so easily must be based on your predjudice towards the Pakistan team in general. The past accusations, which are still accusations until proven properly, are no carte blanche excuse to do away with normal thought processes.

Its seemingly his words vs everyone elses, in the absence of proof, why do you believe Haider?

Its is amazing that the people who work with him, live with him, eat with him, seem to also not support this..... :hmmm

Maybe this is because all of them are being paid by bookmakers, or have guns to their heads :gun

Or more than likely Haider has just defamed all of them in the press, collectively refering to the team as match fixers, and unsuprisingly they havent taken too kindly.

Simply because I dont believe someone would put an end to intl career, which he has worked all his life, all of sudden for UK passport. Theres more reason to believe him also because Geoff Lawson said exactly same thing few weeks ago.

Considering that he was only one involved in this incident , it hardly ends up been his words vs everyone else :texas!

Very true, SP. It is always easy for some to become caught up in the hysteria that incidents such as this generate. There is no point in pre-judging matters before a proper investigation (if one is to be held).

According to the wireless just now, the verdict has now been delayed until 5 Feb. Aren't sports bodies marvellously good at self regulation?

The ICC making the rules up as they go along? No, that's too hard to believe...

We are to believe that someone "guessed" correctly when these "no balls" would be bowled....a stato worked out the odds were 1.5 million to one against..also the young leftarmer doesnt bowl no balls, yet when it was "predicted" he would, he wasnt just over he was two feet over, bring a comment from Holding at the time..."wow"...

We are to believe that the cash found in Butts bedroom was his subsistence money...why cash...sounds like a load of political bull to me....the ironic thing, this involves a nation who are totally against gambling, its against the countries religious beliefs..so if found guilty will they face a relgious court and maybe suffer the full weight of Islamic law???......rattan...hand severing, death sentance...it would never happen here but in a fundamental Relgious state...who knows..people have been executed for less...

The young lads I think were deceived and mugged off, but Butt....Sorry but guilty as charged....ban him for life and fine him several hundreds of thousands of pounds...they must make an example of him and hammer him so others will think twice about fixing a game...it smears the good name of the game, and once again its Pakistan who are at the centre of controvsy..who says its not a plot by those who hate all things "western?"....
I was once asked how I deal with bouncers....I thought about it then replied.."smile and hope they dont throw me out of the night club"..

At no point, should anyone EVER deliberatly bowl a no-ball...they deserve the same punishment as Butt..age or naivity isnt an excuse
