I don't want to labour the point but just where did you get 324 from?
Is it
Number of days in a year minus Sundays plus Bank Holidays or something similar ????

Its from a show called Peep Show..... obviously a cultural reference that flew over everyones head.

"" Cultural ?""

It defeated me.

"In a startling confession made by ‘tainted’ Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir, the 19-year old gave out a statement to the Pakistan team management that he was ‘lured’ into the spot-fixing scandal by former skipper Salman Butt. Amir also confessed that he never wanted to be a part of the fixing-scandal that rocked Pakistan’s Test tour of England, and that he was forced into the scam by Butt, who is also under the fixing scanner."

I wonder if Mr. Butt will say he’s heard some bookies say that Amir is making it all up.

I doubt if this happened but..................

An 18 year old fast bowler is walking back to his mark with his captain alongside. The captain says that he really wants the batsman 'roughed up " and tells the fast bowler to pitch it short and get as near as he can before he lets go - don't worry about the no ball just make sure the batsman is subject to something fast , short and nasty.
What do you think could happen ?? Would it be so simple to punish the 18 year old then ??

Still not on Cricinfo but it's now on the NOTW website.

If the report is true I'm afraid Amir cannot use "I was lured into it" as a defence. A crime is a crime is a crime.

However this isn't a set-in-stone confession so we need to wait until sonmthing more substantial comes out.

True that he can't use it as a defence, but he can use it in mitigation.

Amir and Asif set to appeal their current suspension.

Whats the bet they get re-instated? Ever since this story broke I've had a sickening feeling this would all come to nothing because the issues involved are simply too big for the game to properly grasp. Suspending the players openers up a massive can of worms with Pak cricket and the ICC won't want to know.

Guess we'll all just have to accept the whitewash that will eventually come that Butt, Asif and Amir are completely innocent and that this spot-fixing is a mere fabricated nonsense purely designed to undermine Pak cricket

Life bans, in my experience of Pakistan cricket, tend only to last about 6 months tops anyway, most of the time...
Anything can happen with a round ball.

The only two charged and found guilty, Saleem Malik and Ata Ur Rehman, served six and eight year bans respectively before their life bans were overturned....

and after all of the furore and bans, apparently younis and Yousuf will now both be back in the team - I think Rana Naved was recently cleared as well.

Is this just pak panicking now that they have lost Asif, Aamer and Butt and know they are lacking quality players?

I think it shows they have no plan what so ever. And that Pakistan Cricket will just keep going around in circles untill it is overhauled from the top down.

It's tragic, what's happening with Pakistani cricket. One of my best days ever was sitting in the member's stand at the MCG for the 1992 World Cup final. Pakistan were absolutely amazing. Eighteen years later, I don't think things could possibly get any worse.
