Wes Durston has left Derbyshire, at 36 he might be worth a punt as a limited overs batsman.

Durham were rumoured to be interested in him a couple of years ago.

Despite his age we might still want a word assuming he comes cheap.

Doubt he'd be much good in the LVCC where he's been on the wane for years.

To get our players used to the Day/Night test at Edgbaston next year it looks like a round of CC games are going to be a day/night affair.

The ECB have gone f-ing mad.

I can't see how is that logistically possible when there is a 9 day turnover time between the 4th South African test and the floodlit West Indies test.

It doesn't say that the day/night CC games would be scheduled immediately before the floodlit test, even though that would be logical. I think August is given over completely to domestic T20 in any case. Presumably the floodlights CC games will be scheduled earlier in the season -illogical but it is an ECB initiative after all. Times reporting that they'll probably be scheduled late June.

Second half of June after the Champions Trophy is possible in terms of getting the test squad available to play a round of County Championship matches, though it means test players won't be featuring in the South Africa T20 series.

Though hosting pink ball cricket during the longest day of the year is utterly pointless, unless if play begins at 4.30pm.

ECB have confirmed round of floodlights games will be those commencing 26th June. 5 days after the longest day! Only ECB could plan that.

Essex have signed Simon Harmer for the upcoming season... a much needed signing, we have needed a spinner for years, particuarly now we are in div 1...suprised we have him on a kolapk for the whole year though...thought that he would be a part of south africa's test plans...but their loss is our gain :D
