More of a shame than a suprise...there's no doubt how big his legacy is/would have been, but recently he is going out of his way to tarnish it....no guarantee he gets to 1000 career goals at this rate

Carlos Querioz has terminated his contract as Ghana manager....how is he still a manager?? How old is he now?!

Good to see Cristiano Ronaldo continue to show the world his ego comes before everything and everyone including his national team mates.....41 years old walk away and keep whatever is left of your legacy intact

They should have dropped him 6 years ago, he can't move anymore.

neither could Messi

Fully agree but Martinez refused to budge and now he doesn't like it as the new manager has a backbone and isn't playing him

well, well, well

as bad as Croatia were in that game tonight, England were bloody good. 7-0 away from home against a side 13th in the FIFA rankings and top 10 in Europe and it could have been 10 or 12 easily. England completely overran, overwhelmed and utterly crushed Croatia, who could find almost no response to it. It was great to see. More please!

in the 11 games since the start of the WC, England have scored 31 goals with the current front 4 contributing 26 of them with 15 assists too

HK - 9, 2
JB - 8, 5
AG - 4, 4
BS - 5, 4

and yet Saka wasn't fully fit during the WC and has looked slightly out of form since.

Just got to get the defence sorted out now

Hall did well again and Scott looked very comfortable in the Rice role

the Quansah cross for the Gordon goal was every bit as good as the TAA cross for him v Czech Rep, but if I was to be hyper critical sometimes Quansah can be found actually defending in a right back position

It feels ridiculous now, that a year or so ago I was questioning, under Southgate, whether Kane still had the legs to compete at this level. He'll match Shilton's 125 caps on Tuesday and now has 89 goals. He's changed the way he plays the game since he moved to Bayern and he now links up brilliantly with Bellingham

Oh, and the Rogers/Bellingham debate earlier this year? Shot to pieces

[andy]

Has to be the best England performance seen for years?? Yes Croatia were awful however England made them look horrendous as well going forward it was relentless could have easily been 9 or 10....there's still the odd defensive lapse which needs cutting out but it was an exceptional performance and hopefully Tuesday night is more of the same

Ezri Konsa and Alex Scott the latest to withdraw...Scott seemingly out for a few weeks with a tendon issue

comfortable 3-0 win for England. Late comeback win for Spain, Mikel Merino (of course), which will suit England

There was a bit of a dip in intensity tonight as Tuchel shuffled his pack, but it was a solid, largely scare free performance. Pickford had his favourite Keystone Kops helmet on tonight, but didn't have to make a save.... one save in his 2 matches, I think. I would have preferred Eze to get down the flanks more and get crosses in, but he kept cutting inside, which was a bit irritating. All the crosses came from the right. Rogers started slowly, fluffed his lines a few times in Saka's position, but grew into the game. the ball over the top from Anderson, half volley square ball from Rogers for Kane to rifle in for the second, was a thing of beauty. That's what you put up with ITV adverts for.

TAA was tracking back and making tackles tonight ....... 'kin 'ell!. He had a decent game tonight

I came away from the game thinking that if anything happens to Kane, then England are screwed if DCL and MGW are the replacements. 125 caps, 91 goals now. Next best... Rooney on 53. What a player he is
