blimey.... feels excessive. Lancs got off with theirs earlier this year. Hants got 8 points last year, I think Somerset got a small deduction last year too... maybe 5?

they would have been handed a 35 point deduction, but 8 points were suspended for 12 months. I imagine Leics will appeal. This was a match that went all 4 days and included 2 player scores of 93 and 99

I look at the low Oval scores since June, virtually unplayable, but nobody is talking about point deductions for Surrey..... funny that!

a useful and unbroken stand keeps the Yorks/Som game more evenly balanced. If Yorks can get a 200 lead, Somerset might equally implode in the chase and then crumble further under the pressure of Warks dispatching Essex inside 2 days. And under the weight of history, of course......there is presumably a reason why Somerset have never won the CC
