India dragging Vaibhav around and leaving him sitting on the bench, combined with Sam Curran spending most of the year injured, is likely going to cost me

Overall Top 5

1. Harry Brook - 392 - Brook scores the 5th largest score of the year thanks to a decent showing in the final Test against Pakistan and then a monumental T20 innings against Sri Lanka.

2. Michael Bracewell -373 - A big old score from a man who has not been over-flowing with those this year. Is really using the European T20 Premier League to his advantage. Moved up to a yearly high of 15th Overall.

3. Marco Jansen - 307 - His first red ball game of the year was a very very good one. 37 runs and 7 wickets against the Dolphins bodes well for a good South African Summer. Another good CSA 4-Day Series game could see him challenging Jadeja's red ball average of 203.25.

4. Jos Buttler - 200 - Reached a milestone of 15,000 T20 runs today and also got points back on the board for us. Was only the second most impressive Englishman but still a very solid output for the highest scoring T20 cricketer on our List this year.

5. Quinton de Kock - 198 - Continuing to make hay in the Caribbean sunshine. 88 runs this week but also a huge 70 fielding points - a discipline who was dominating this year before his long absence from the game.

Overall Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 3840 - Had a front row seat to Abhiseikh Sharma's destructive century that edged his inclusion into a T20 XI even less likely in the short term. Inactive and a lead of 203.

2. Simon Harmer - 3637 - Back playing white ball cricket un South Africa and another score of 100+. Is zoning in on first. The gap is now 203....his average red ball output is 179.86.

3. Jos Buttler - 3458 - Narrowed the gap on second place but had the gap on fourth place narrowed for him. Still quite comfortable though.

4. Harry Brook- 3248 - His huge score this week only serves to make a massive gap between him and 5th. The 516 points between him and 5th is the largest on our List.

5.Sam Curran - 2732 - Another inactive week and now has only a 40 point cushion before losing his place in the Top 5 he has been for 20 of the last 37 weeks.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 166.96
2.Harry Brook - 141.22 (Up from 129.82)
3. Simon Harmer = 139.88 (Down from 141.24)

Some monumental changes - but none more so than Bracewell - up 15.57 to 108.22. Travis Head already had the worst average but leaked 4.37 points to 78.22

do you know, I've just noticed......

the boy wonder has 3840 points and Curran has 2732, which, assuming they're correct, totals 6572 points for Red, not 6977

it seems to have started to go awry from 14th August. Maybe I'm not as far behind as I thought I was

Oh.....let me have a look at that tomorrow.

I have just finished this week's calculations and don't have the bandwidth to get into that tonight.

Overall Top 5

1. Jos Buttler - 312 - In the best form he has been in all year....or he was anyway until his hamstring went snap and sees him (potentially) out for longer than the rest break that loomed after the final ODI against Sri Lanka.

2. Travis Head - 224 - Started the week three weeks into a spell as the worst cricketer on the List. A century against Zimbabwe and a decent 36 against South Africa sees him overtake Phil Salt and Sophie Ecclestone into 20th.

3. Harry Brook - 191 - Continuing his white ball spell par excellence - of his last 7 weeks he has scored over 100 in all but two occasions.

4. Marco Jansen - 185 - A very impressive score for a man who has played just one ODI all week....rendered even more impressive by the fact it was his first ODI of the year. Up to 11th place.

5. Saim Ayub - 132- Aside from long long spells of absence and disastrous Test recalls, Ayub has had some decent little patches of cricket across the year; this week's foray in CPL being indicative of such.

Overall Top 5

1.Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 3840 - Inactive. Unknown return date. Could he be overtaken in the final stages of the year. Cruel but likely.

2.Jos Buttler - 3770 - Has narrowed the lead to first to just 70 but Lady Fate has intervened and he now will miss at least the final ODI and a chance to take first spot.

3.Simon Harmer- 3637 - Has returned to Essex to try and aid them out of the fire. The game is still active so he loses a place and is down to third.

4. Harry Brook - 3439 - Will definitely finish within the Top 4 this year courtesy of the 707 point gap below him now.

5.Sam Curran - 2732 - Yet again we say that Sam Curran is a very very lucky boy to still be fifth. Quinton De Kock's poor return to ODI cricket keeps Curran in place by only 14 points.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 166.96
2.Harry Brook - 143,29 (Up from 141.22)
3. Simon Harmer = 139.88 (Down from 141.24)

Travis Head moves up the most - improving his average by 10.83 to (a still unimpressive) 89.05. Quinton De Kock's bum steer takes him down 4.64 points to 123.65.

I fear this checks out.......Red is going to have to make like Leicestershire and have some points docked......not though the groundstaffs' ineptitude but mine.
