And the bowling at the end must have been poor. Just never seem to have a T20 team capable of seizing the moment with bat or ball.

women, on the other hand, go joint second with a bonus point win. Still being made to pay for the rain v Yorks. Top with those extra two points. Maybe they could run some training sessions for the men.... show them how to do it

Yes! Women are putting the men to shame.
It does seem remarkable to manage to lose after such a blistering start. Bowlers should have done better but , onve again, your feeling about lacking batting power down the order has been proven right.

I wouldn't let Aldridge bowl, leave him to bat and catch. He still looks like a regular 10 runs an over bowler to me........

I look at our batting line up and don't see much in the way of fireworks after the top 3. I think we're going to need good bowling plans if we want to replicate last year's improvement

I look around the side and feel like we are an explosive batter short. A couple of early wickets and we suddenly look like a nurdling team

Maybe I'm not giving us enough credit

Aldridge has 8 T20 wickets in 13 matches and that includes a 5fer. When he bowls he goes at nearly 12 an over

He has 159 runs at SR 138 and a best of 44*

I do worry about runs in our T20 side. Both Rhodes and Ackers always look like steady accumulators to me.

We perhaps ought to play Old George too.... for Ackers. Only let Potts and Aldridge bowl 4 or 5 between them... they are the only two bowlers who go for loads. Everyone else goes for around 8, which is manageable, then for next year try and get in at least one other experienced T20 OS player, and preferably two.......
and stop being so bloody stupid. The recruitment for T20 suggests we just don't care about it

The lack of the second overseas player and no attempt to strengthen the squad does suggest we don't take it seriously. Not sure why.

Durham should have put 225 on the board minimum, but made the mistake of doubling down after an electric start from Leesy and tried to bat their way out of the game.

Although Durham could have easily won it by virtue of Sam Whiteman struggling to hit the ball out of the inner circle. Zero power, zero timing.

That Ben McKinney is a strapping chap and one for the future. Looked comfortable against Yorkshire's bowlers. Most impressed.

trouble is, Durham only bat down to 3 when McK is playing and 2 when he isn't. The rest are nurdlers

turns out there's cricket on today, which explains why it keeps on raining

Women are first up and they limited the mighty Notts to 147. Villiers 4-14, and 2 each for Levick and Graham

Villiers followed that up with 31 runs and we are currently 74-1 after 8 overs

I wonder what the chances are of the men doing something similar?

We are very, very close to a finals day berth. Only mathematical bonus point and NRR possibilities stand in the way, so any sort of points from the last two matches will guarantee it

You won't get any of that malarky from the men, but then the women bat lower than just the top 3
