Nothing flash, tbh and he hasn't played T20 since Oct '24, so that feels unlikely

He's only played one game of cricket this year, back at the start of February and that was after a 3 month break, so he might be either very fresh or very rusty. If he's drafted straight in, it might be the latter. We wait and see, I suppose

That three momth break wasn't injury related?!

Marcus North is going to be England's national selector according to The Times. Has a 6 month notice period with Durham but apparently they will come to an agreement and reiease him early.
Assuming the story is correct- and it surely will br - I wonder who will be our new DoC?

I saw nothing to say that he would be leaving his post here, but I'm not wildly disappointed about the prospect of him leaving. Maybe he can take Bostock with him.... fold him up and pack him in his suitcase.... nobody would notice

Yes, I'd have thought he could combine the roles but the Times article suggests he's leaving Durham.

Hollie Armitage is to become captain of MI London in the centiball

I wonder if this is linked in any way to her form dropping off a cliff these last couple of weeks

Yes, I'd have thought he could combine the roles but the Times article suggests he's leaving Durham.

It's one of those roles where a deep understanding of county players should be prerequisite, but I wouldn't have thought that it would necessarily mean he physically has to scout these players himself, but rather be able to tap into a network (which he presumably already has in place) of other coaches and DoC's,

Don't get me wrong... for clarity, I'm not suggesting he stays

Only thing I can think of is there might be a perception of conflict of interest. Otherwise there's surely no reason he couldn't combine the roles.

Hadn't heard that. He disappeared amidst swirling rumours so either those rumours were false or whatever the issue was has been resolved. From a cricketing viewpoint he would seem an ideal candidate.
