England's batting isn't robust yet they currently have solid picks from 3-6, and maybe even 2-7. Number three isn't nailed down, but Bethell will get at least a year to prove himself.

some will think it's the weight of the captaincy, but it may also be that he hasn't got games against Durham to bump all his numbers up into the stratosphere

Lyndon James is finding this problematic as well. And there will be others who find that their contract extension prospects are about to take a hit through Durham's absence

Had two really horrible dismisssals at Hove in the 2nd game, especially in the 2nd innings when he decided to dance down the track to smash James Coles into the English Channel, and only ended up providing catching practice to mid on.

On Warwickshire, considering all the talk last year about Hamza Sheikh being the next Bradman, not sure where he has disappeared to this year. Watching him a couple of times I didn't get the hype and he was outclassed a little at times, but if they really consider him a generational prospect, then surprising they haven't stuck with him.

Bad start for Essex. Apart from Mddx v N'hants, all the games are nicely poised.

Benkenstein has played really well to rebuild the Essex innings, but just had a momentary lapse of concentration and nearly gave it away, tried to take on Webster's off spin and skied one just out of reach of the fielder.
