Somerset handed an 8 pt deduction for the sh1te pitch against Durham that saw the match completed in 5 sessions. 4 points now and 4 points suspended for the next 2 seasons

I'm sure Hampshire will be thrilled about that, given they were docked the straight 8 points which has landed them in the relegation fight

Somerset can't win the CC and can't be relegated, so quite what the point of the deduction is I'm not sure. If the ECB are going to go down the suspension route, then it should be for the whole 8 points then any further infraction would hit them with a 16 point deduction and that might hurt them in the future.... besides.... I reckon that last pitch was probably a *modded* nonsense anyway.

Somerset have been up to their old tricks again. I don't know why they keep doing it, it has never helped them to a CC title the way it helped Lancs under Peter Moores

We had frost up here this morning... proper frost, not just a tiddly bit. I think we had a frost when the CC started back in early April

Really, who could have predicted that Notts would win the title and Hants go down? If that happens...
