Charlie Allison is only about 10 years old, so you can chalk up a ton for him too along with rapid fire half centuries for Critchley and Harmer

No snater on the field this morning which is a blow...he went down late last night, means if breakthroughs aren't found then noah thain may get a bowl today didn't bowl much yesterday but the bowlers will tire so he may have to step up

I don't think he bowls much unless ( or until!) things get desperate.

Just the 4 bowlers it is then? Yeah but it doesn't look horrendous...could well be isolated showers....Potts and Raine have bowled really well so far

Parkinson had an lbw shout turned against Elgar with the final ball of his first over....Elgar struggles with spin so not a bad move with him being brought on just before lunch

Conners opens after lunch and Westley whips him through midwicket for 4 to bring up the Essex fifty...in the 23rd over
