McKinney doesn't surprise me, but Gay does

I see we've signed Jimmy Neasham for the hit and giggle. Does that mean Foulkes has dropped out or does it mean we won't be risking Bedders?

we do, of course, have Yusuf available for the T20 group stage as well.

I'm not sure why there are all of those options. Bedders has the test final with SA.

he's not likely to be in good shape for that. Hardly played any cricket. Presumably he will play on Friday

I see that Lauren Filer played on Sunday for the ECB XI -v- WI, despite not playing a single match for us this season because of injury. I hope that the 3 overs she bowled was a way of easing her back into form, from which we ultimately benefit or, perish the thought, the ECB could be accused of taking the ssip.

That's our second loanee from Somerset

Why don't Somerset want him for the dribble?

I looked him up on Wikipedia, don't know if the stats are up to date but he has played 5 dribble games without taking a wicket!
Took 2 wickets in the second warm-up game against Notts but went for 43 ....and they only made 125!
Both games won - we made 200 in the first one but it was a second X1 game and we were using the first team squad.

I thought I'd read that he took 13 wickets in the dribble last year

I did
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/art ... k2l51xzp1o

at first I thought it was lazy, misreporting by the beeb and that perhaps he'd taken 13 wickets in the CC, or something equally irrelevant, but he took 24 wickets in the CC last year, so where they get that stat from I have no idea

at least our website records that accurately, although they also refer to him being part of the title winning side in '23, even though he didn't take any wickets which didn't get a mention

According to The Daily Mail Kasey Aldridge is going to sign for us nest year - don't know if that means the loan deal will be extended for the rest of the season. And Archie Bailey is another new addition next year, had not heard of him but a fast bowler who Brendon McCullum rates highly despite only playing a handful of games for Gloucestershire.
It does sound as if the DM is right because both those players were mentioned as possible signings in The Cricketer magazine.
