Talk about players you completely forget about the existence of!

I stumbled across ex-Pakistan and Leicestershire player Mansoor Amjad turning out for Galle today in a 50 over match against Kandy. The veteran of one T20i where he took 3-3 against Bangladesh still looked handy with the bat as he got 51 from 62 balls as the rain approached.

The two Pakistan sides didn't hold back on each other in a full blooded encounter with 2 centuries, 2 fivefers and a player sent to hospital.

it was the Azhar Ali captained Team Green that ran out winners - however the best performance in the game came from Team White's Mohammad Rizwan with 54 in the first dig and a century in the second.

Fawad Alam yet again showing that good things come to those who wait as he scored 139 for Pakistan A against New Zealand A. Alam was a big part of the reason why NZA needed 298 to win - they did OK but eventually fell to an 89 run loss. Not bad going when you consider that West Indies were almost beaten twice by this NZA outfit.

The Pakistan Junior League has put a few names on our radar.

It was a truly international event, however dominated by Pakistan players.

By some distance the stand out player was Basit Ali who blew the tournament away. First off he scored the most runs (379) at the highest average (63.16). He also had the Two highest scores in the tournament (102 and 91) at the second highest average Strike Rate (150.2). So....yeah....bit good.

Mohammad Zeeshan also stood out...in many ways. The 6 foot 8 inch 16 year old right armer got 14 wickets at an economy of 7.25. The only bowler to get a fivefer was also a Pakistan player - Saad Masood.

The future looks bright for Pakistan cricket.

The worst phase I have seen from the Pakistan team. Won't be surprised if they make a new low though.

Administration, selection, fitness, domestic setup - everything is at its low.
Test FL's - 8 , ODI and Tests Combo FL's - 1, ODI World Cup - 1, ODI FL's - 7, ODI and T20i combo FL's - 1 ,
T20 Franchisee FL's - 7, T20i Cup FL's- 1, T20 FL's- 5 , 50 Overs Domestic FL's - 1, 40 Overs Domestic FL's- 1

Babar has the third-worst strike rate of all No.3s from Test playing nations since Jan 2023
