Louis out for 27.

The inexperienced batting line up struggling with alien conditions.

It was always a risk sending a relatively new 2-5 to England.

Gentle Ben took a wicket in India, so second wicket in last 12 months.

England probably justified in sending WI in with 3 wickets before lunch.

Possibly because you are a bit of a pessimist concerning English cricket ? Not without some justification :)

But yes I think we all might have to keep our fingers crossed for Stokes ; having him bowling really balances the team so much better.

Decent session for both sides in a way . No pace in the pitch but three wickets despite no early inroads ; and yet West Indies might feel they've done well to only lose three under gloomy skies. Not a ton of batting to come so these two will need to kick on after lunch.

Good first spell for Atkinson. Brisk pace and accurate , and rewarded with two quick scalps. Be interesting to see how well he backs it up in later spells ; but an excellent start for him :clap

To be fair the new opeener Louis looked solid, looked really good in defence played a few beautiful shots and got out to a very good catch, so he looks a good player but yeah at least they have applied themselves

And then out the next ball...

Atkinson has a 5-for on debut, and 3 wickets in 4 balls...

3 balls left to make it an 8-for. Windies burning up in a fireball so far.

Unless Atkinson goes for another 20 odd runs, this is currently the all-time best figures for an Englishman on debut.

Dominic Cork can breath a sigh of relief, as the last stand has a slog and his record remains intact by a couple of runs. Anderson then denies Atkinson the chance of joining the elite 8-for on debut club.

Crawley lucky to survive that over. Needs to ditch the T20 slogging nonsense he usually does, he desperately needs some form
