This competition has been ongoing for a while and caught some of Negombo’s utter mailing of Tamil Union today. Tamil Union were rocketed out for 99, courtesy of figures of 4-23 from Sri Lankan fringe player Nisala Tharaka.
It only took Tamil Union 27 overs to get all out and it took Negombo even less time to overhaul it – they did lose five batsmen on the way but caution was thrown to the wind.
Despite this comprehensive victory, Tamil Union are still second in the table with Negombo now third.
Sandun Weerakkody’s 196 runs across three innings for Badureliya sees him top the run scoring charts whilst nine wickets @ 11.33 for Nondescripts Chaturanga de Silva sees him with the edge in the wicket taking column.
