My advice to Sydney would be to not let any British back packers into the ground

Appears not, both teams tested negative. Crowd capacity has been reduced to 25%. Still too many IMO.

Losing the toss in Sydney on top of all the injuries was a concern, even with Siraj picking up Warner early on

2021 is supposed to be a cooler year, so maybe the risk of bush fires will be lessened. We can only hope so

Probably put the mockers on, and the pitch isn't doing much, but Puckovski is looking pretty decent so far. Like most Aussies though, is playing mostly on the back foot with a big step across the stumps and a bit away from the body. Looks like another lbw candidate if the full ball moves.

better from Australia. Half centuries from Pucovski and Lambshanks and a first start from Smith

Big breakthrough for India seperating Labu and Smith. And well worth having the fifth bowler.

Australia well on top despite losing Marnus this morning , as the rain pauses the action at 213/3 . Thought Jadeja oddly underused yesterday - didn't think Rahane got it quite right with his captaincy and India could be in for a tough day when the weather clears.

Pucovski looked the part in his debut : Yes , he benefited from two drops at around thirty but otherwise played pretty well ; generally was busy , ran well , defended in orthodox manner and dealt with anything loose decisively - a good first knock. The one issue I suspect will have been noted by analysts everywhere was that he does indeed look to have a problem with the short ball. He was not unnerved by it - in fact he showed a readiness to hook - but even on this benign surface he was not at all convincing in his execution of the shot...several went in the air somewhat uncontrolled and one of the chances he gave was a fluffed pull that really should have been taken by the keeper. He is likely to be further tested by fast bowlers in this area and will need to improve or he will be in trouble on livelier pitches.

But as BFL says , better than Burns :)
