Another Root innings ends after a start. Although hes been undone by a fine piece of bowling there.

In his last 10 tests since that mammoth double in Hamilton, Root has a lowest score of 14 for an innings ended by dismissal. Only one other innings falls below 20, but he has only passed 60 once, in an innings where Windies went full on declaration bowling with no close catchers in.

Its amazing how consistently he gets into an innings before throwing it away after he passes 20 ish.

I wonder how many other people averaging 48 in so many tests would go through a peroid where they converted so little starts into match winning innings.

I can't help but think that if Crawley falls, then Pakistan will run through the rest quite quickly
