4-Day Franchise Series

Postby The Professor » Mon Oct 14, 2019 9:53 pm

Second round of this South African cricket comp started today. Running alongside the three day champ and the one day, this gets a higher calibre of players and viewership in SA.

The Warriors had the best first day as 15 wickets fell in East London.

Lutho Sipamla was integral to the Warriors getting the Lions all out for 152 as he got figures of 4-57.

Warriors could not bury the game though as they are 113-5 - comfortable but not out of the realms of possibility for a comeback.

The Warriors faced defeat in their first game whilst the Lions won so this is a reversal of fortunes for both teams.

Is there any live streaming for these South African competitions?

Similar timezone to us so could be useful to lift those winter blues

I'm very worried abut the prof

getting married in a few days and still starting new threads

stop starting new threads... you haven't got time, or at least you shouldn't have. Start dabbing your suit with cellotape to get the fluff off; get your shoes polished; sponge any old food off your tie and get your shirt starched and ironed....these things won't happen by themselves ;)

and don't forget to get your hair cut :halo:

Dwaine Pretorious has given Lions an outside chance here but that really is it.

After Warriors were out for 206- a lead of 54 - Lions were staring down the barrel at 71-5 before the South African international rallied with a score of 71 in a lower middle order resistance seventh wicket partnership of 87. He could not last the day and was dismissed with three overs until stumps.

With just two wickets left, Lions have a lead of 157 - a total the Warriors will knock off easily barring a miracle.

This four day game was wrapped up in three as Warriors knocked off the 165 needed to take their inaugural win. This despite a valiant effort from Malusi Siboto who got 4-47 as he got 4 of the first five wickets taking Warriors to 34-4 and then 67-5 but the Lions steadied the ship to take them second on the table with two further games to finish tomorrow.

After a protracted break the first round of fixtures of 2020 were completed today.

The Dolphins beat the Cape Cobras and Lions beat Knights.

The best performance across the fixtures came from the drawn game between the Titans and the Warriors where Titans' Grant Thomson held off the Warriors with a score of 103* today to add to his 38 and a wicket from earlier in the match.

Lions remain top of the table, with four wins out of 5.
