And Warner is participating in IPL.
Cricket Australia must be trying to rival FTECB in illogical decision making!

The absence of Smith was the first thing I noticed from that touring party, so presumably he won't be the capt for the year
I can only imagine that Eckersley is hoping to fill the gap vacated by Davis as the sister's eventual replacement

Why "bad boy Smiffy, too"? Surely he hasn't blotted his copybook? In any case, I wouldn't have him as a definite starter in the first team anyway. The choice as skipper comes down to Rushworth, Steel, or Lees for me. I also reckon Eckersley is well worth a punt as an alternative to Poynter.

I agree about Eckersley although I think - if we do sign him - he's one of a good few players who is more of a useful squad member than ideal first team regular. Same as Poynter and too many of the other likely regulars for my liking.

Yes, we could really have done with a proper quality middle order batsman (kolpak, probably) to prop up the middle order and allow some of the less proven/consistent batsmen to play around him. All we need is Dale Benkenstein and a time machine....
