Clearly the Mountaineers were in a rush to get this done.
A 4-Day game was finished in half the time. After being 60-2 overnight it took just 4 more overs for Mid West to suffer a catastrophic collapse to 80 all out. Unsurprisingly, the Mountaineers asked them to follow on where they were skittled out for the second time in a day; this time for a more creditable 171. This left the Moutnaineers just 16 runs to get - a target they met in 8 minutes.
The most prolific bowler for the Mountaineers was William Mashinge who got 1 wicket in the Mid West's first innings but followed it up with five in the second.
There must be something in the water in Zimbabwe as the other fixture between Matebaland and Mashonaland finished within two days also as the latter ran out the winners by 7 wickets in a low-scoring game.
